Every week during the high school season, provided there are enough nominees from varsity coaches, VolleyballMag.com will recognize a Dream Team of high school volleyball players who were standouts the weekend before.

Most weeks, the eight-girl Dream Team will consist of the following:

Note to coaches and directors: while there is no science to how we choose members of our Dream Team, performing on bigger stages will give players an edge, as will nomination forms that describe with specificity how well a player performed the previous weekend.

S: Julia Kakkis, 6-0 Sr., Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) – Kakkis was named MVP of the Durango Fall Classic after leading the third-seeded Monarchs to the title on Saturday, avenging an early-season defeat to Mira Costa in the championship match.

RS: Alanah Clemente, 6-2 Jr., Alemany (Mission Hills, California) – Lean but with a whip for an arm, Clemente was the go-to attacker for the Warriors throughout the Durango Fall Classic. She and her teammates played with grit and tenacity and almost took down national No. 1 Mira Costa in the division qualifying round.

OH: Isabel Clark, 6-0 Sr., Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) – Clark wore a new number on championship Saturday at Durango, but her thunderbolts rained down just as hard. On a team with three rugged pins, Clark shined bright. The All-Tournament Team member scored points in bunches and was the go-to in the most important moments.

Avery Jackson

OH: Avery Jackson, 5-9 Sr., The Hockaday School (Dallas, Texas) – What Jackson, a Stanford beach volleyball commit, did over seven matches at the Durango Fall Classic is nothing short of incredible. The outside hitter hit .416 with 136 kills, while adding 62 digs, 13 aces, six blocks and 105 receptions while passing a 2.4. Her team finished 25th overall; yet her play was recognized with an All-Tournament Team selection.

OH: Camryn Chatellier, 5-10 Sr., Dominican (New Orleans, Louisiana) – Chatellier led her team to a 7-0 week against many of the state’s best teams. Behind Chatellier, who finished the week with 85 kills, 75 digs, nine aces and five blocks, Dominican took down four teams ranked No. 1 in their classification and captured the crown at the Red-Hot Sticker Classic in Baton Rouge.

Kinley Soiney

MB: Kinley Soiney, 5-10 Soph., Mabel-Canton (Mabel, Minnesota) – Soiney eclipsed 1,000 career kills this past weekend at the Class A Showcase. She is the first sophomore to accomplish this feat at Mabel-Canton. She finished with 75 kills in 134 attempts with only 13 errors (.462) in this high level tournament. Her team, Mabel-Canton, fell in the championship against Minneota who is the #1 ranked team in the state. Mabel-Canton is ranked #2.

MB: Logan Wiley, 6-2 Sr., Alpharetta (Georgia) – Last week, the Georgia Tech commit played like one of the elite players in the Peach State (which she is), leading the Raiders to seven wins, including the A5 Beast of the Southeast title. She accumulated team-highs in kills with 58 and blocks with 31.

Libero: Maya Evens, 5-8 Jr., Cathedral Catholic (San Diego, California) – Evens stared down some HUGE shots all tournament long at Durango, none with more pace than the missiles from ultra-physical Prestonwood Christian Academy that she thwarted time and again in the semifinal sweep. Evens was an All-Tournament Team selection.

Also considered (by position, in order of consideration):
S: Charlie Fuerbringer, 5-11 Sr., Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach, California) – The Wisconsin commit took the Mustangs to the precipice of a title at the Durango Fall Classic, masterfully running an offense that featured threats at every position. She was part of the All-Tournament Team.

S: Sade Ilawole, 5-2 Sr., Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, California) – Very few players who stand 5-2 can play six-rotations at setter and lead a top national team. Ilawole is that rare exception. She is ultra-athletic and has a great feel for the game. Her unheralded work helped the Trailblazers tie for third this past weekend at the Durango Fall Classic.

S: Olivia Callipo, 5-11 Jr., Middleburg (Florida) — The junior setter recorded 70 assists while helping the Broncos earn wins over Nease and Ponte Vedra, extending Middleburg’s current winning streak to six. Callipo’s performances last week included a career-high 42 assists as the Broncos beat Ponte Vedra for the first time in 11 years.

S/RS: Isabella Lagemann, 5-10 Sr., Benton (Arkansas) – The LSU beach commit had a great week for Benton, which won three matches, including one over defending 4A champion Brookland and another over the-undefeated Lakeside. Over 10 sets, Lagemann averaged 11.3 assists. 11 kills, 2,7 aces and 2.3 blocks per match. She is an intense player who understands the ebb and flow of the game, her coach said.

S/RS: Violet Burchak, 5-9 Sr., Shorecrest (Shoreline, Washington) – The Scots have started 8-0 on the year and were 2-0 last week, with their lefty S/RS contributing 17 assists, 14 kills, 16 digs, six blocks and six aces. Coach Robyn Williams calls Burchak, who remains uncommitted, the glue to the Shorecrest team.

OH: Kiera Coleman, 5-11 Jr., Fairport (New York) – Coleman is a member of a strong Red Raiders team that aspires to advance far in the regional and state playoffs this year. Last week, with four starters missing matches due to illness and Fairport’s divisional record at risk, Coleman stepped up. In thee matches, all wins, Coleman delivered a team-high 71 kills. She also was second in digs and aces. Coleman is committed to playing beach volleyball at Hawaii.

OH: Mari King, 5-11 Jr., Trinity Christian (Jacksonville, Florida) – King was named MVP of the River City Classic. The Marquette recruit totaled 102 kills (hitting .338), 61 digs, 17 aces and 12 blocks over 18 sets.

OH: Megan Fitch, 6-2 Jr., Cornerstone Christian (San Antonio, Texas) – Fitch dominated from both pins at the Durango Fall Classic for Cornerstone, which placed sixth overall in Las Vegas. She was selected to the All-Tournament Team.

OH: Charlotte Moriarity, 5-10 Sr., Assumption (Louisville, Kentucky) – The Xavier commit made the All-Tournament Team at Durango, as she helped the Rockets make the Championship Division, including a massive rally over Saint Francis of Mountain View, California, in the bracket qualifying round.

OH: Sophia Wendlick, 6-0 Sr., Divine Savior Holy Angels (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) – Wendlick helped undefeated DSHA to an 8-0 week, including the title at the West Bend Sprawl. Wednlick finished the week with 86 kills, 42 digs and eight aces.

OH: Nadia Ewton, 6-1 Jr., Fletcher (Neptune Beach, California) – Ewton finished the week with three double-double performances, totaling 54 kills, 46 digs and 18 aces in a 4-0 showing. She only played one set on Tuesday versus Sandalwood and had six kills on six swings.

OH: Emma Bailey, 5-10 Sr., Maple Mountain (Spanish Fork, Utah) – Bailey was a standout for the Golden Eagles at the Durango Fall Classic. The senior hit .343 against high-level competition in Las Vegas, with 70 kills, 24 digs and 11 aces. She had 14 kills in the bracket championship match versus Orem for 33rd place overall, where she hit .542 with 14 kills in the sweep.

MB: Bailey Blair, 5-10 Jr., Assumption (Louisville, Kentucky) – The Rockets’ blocks leader a year ago, Blair was Assumption’s shot of adrenaline this weekend at the Durango Fall Classic. She scores in front of and behind the setter and gave her team a jolt to push on during tight situations.

Libero: Malyssa Cawa, 5-4 Sr., Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) – Cawa was a back-row constant for the Monarchs in their push to the title at the Durango Fall Classic. The Stanford recruit made the All-Tournament Team.

Libero: Siena Ebert, 5-10 Fr., The Hockaday School (Dallas, Texas) – The freshman turned heads at Durango, where the Daisies finished 25th overall. Called “amazing to watch,” her stats from the weekend prove that she can hang with the best of the best: 116 digs, nine aces and passing a 2.0 on 163 serve receptions.
