
International volleyball: Huge weeks for Lee, Eggleston, Samedy, Snyder, Bannister
This is our weekly update on USA women playing professional volleyball around the world. Most of the players are former NCAA standouts:
Italy

Simone Lee and Casalmaggiore (9-15) had a great week, starting with its biggest win of the season, a five-set upset of Milano.
Lee led with 20 kills and a block and setter Micha Hancock was named MVP after having six kills, two blocks and an ace. Milano’s Dana Rettke had four kills and a block for Milano.
Casalmaggiore then beat Pinerolo (11-13) in four sets as Lee had 11 kills, two aces and a block and Hancock had two kills, an ace and a block.
Cuneo, trying to avoid relegation, got a big win by beating Roma in five sets. Anna Stevenson-Hall came off the bench to spark a key service run in the fifth set and finished with three kills on four swings. Madi Kubik had three kills.
But then Cuneo (7-17) was swept by Milano (20-4), which got eight kills from Rettke and two from sub Kara Bajema. Stevenson-Hall had one kill and a block and Kubik had four kills as a substitute.
Conegliano (24-0) swept rival Novara and Kelsey Robinson Cook was second top scorer with 14 kills (.462) and an ace. Kathryn Plummer had seven kills and one block.

Then Conegliano beat Vallefoglia (11-13) in four sets as Khalia Lanier had seven kills and setter Madi Bugg had a kill and an ace.
Scandicci swept Pinerolo as Lindsey Ruddins had 11 kills (.409) and three aces Teammate Haleigh Washington added five kills in as many attacks, two blocks and an ace.
Firenze (10-14) was swept by Vallefogliabut then broke its six-match losing streak by sweeping Chieri (13-11). Kendall Kipp led Firenze with 13 kills (.571) and two blocks. Madi Kingdon Rushel had nine kills for Chieri. Avery Skinner did not play. Earlier in the week, she had 14 kills and hit .583 in Chieri’s sweep of Buso Arsizio.
Türkiye
Logan Eggleston had 52 kills in two matches.
But first, Stephanie Samedy and Micaya White had a huge week. Samedy had 30 kills to lead Muratpasa past Karayollari in five sets and added two aces and a block. Micaya White had a match-high eight aces to go along with 12 kills and a block.
Muratpasa then lost to Besiktas (9-16) in four sets but Samedy and White were both the top scorers with 21 points each Samedy had 20 kills and an ace and White had 19 kills and two blocks.
Eggleston went off for 34 kills as Galatasaray (13-12) beat Besiktas in five sets. Eggleston hit .382 and four blocks and two aces. Danielle Cuttino had three kills.
Eggleston then had 18 kills, hit .444, and had three blocks and two aces as Galatasaray (swept Cukurova (8-17).
VakifBank escaped Aydin in four sets, all decided by two points. Chiaka Ogbogu had 11 kills. Jordan Thompson had four kills and three blocks in a brief appearance. Aydin setter Lauren Carlini had five kills and one block for Aydin.
VakifBank (22-2) then had its most complete performance in weeks by sweeping Eczacibasi (22-2). Thompson led with nine kills, three blocks and an ace. Ogbogu and Ali Frantti did not play.
Aydin (8-17) swept PTT (6-19) as Carlini had a career-high seven blocks to go with two kills and an ace. Payton Caffrey had six kills and one ace for PTT.
Kuzeyboru (17-8) swept rival Nilufer. Sarah Parsons was the second-top scorer with 14 kills and one block and then she had 11 kills and an ace in a sweep of Sariyer (5-20). Kuzeyboru has won six in a row.
Brazil
Osasco (16-3) swept Sao Caetano (0-19). Brionne Butler had three kills and a block. Callie Schwarzenbach had a kill.
SESC RJ (17-2) beat rival Minas (13-6) in four sets. Roni Jones-Perry had nine kills for SESC RJ. Setter Jenna Gray had two aces and one kill for Minas and Annie Mitchem added two kills.
France
FRENCH CUP: Mulhouse got into the final by sweeping Chamalieres. Carli Snyder was named MVP after having 14 kills, three blocks and an ace. Annayka Legros added 11 kills (.917) and four blocks. Jaali Winters had seven kills and a block.
Nantes also earned its spot in the final by beating Quimper in four sets. Jaelyn Keene was MVP for having 10 kills (.833), three blocks and four aces. Taylor Mims had 12 kills, three aces and a block.
FRENCH LEAGUE: Nantes (19-2) won its fourth by sweeping Venelles. Mims led with 15 kills and two blocks. Keene had seven kills and one block.
Cannes (8-15) ended its losing streak by sweeping Quimper (2-20). Madelyn Robinson had 13 kills (.462) and a block for Cannes. Leah Meyer added four kills.
Nancy (16-6) lost to Volero Le Cannet (15-7). Katelyn Evans was the top scorer for Nancy with 19 kills, three blocks and two aces. Breana Runnels had 10 kills and two blocks. Setter Saige Ka’aha’aina-Torres had two kills and a block.
Mulhouse (16-6) held off Beziers (13-9) in five sets. Winters had 14 kills and three blocks, Legros followed with 11 kills and an ace, and Snyder had 10 kills and a block. Claire Hoffman led all scorers with 20 kills for Beziers. Serena Gray added 10 kills, three blocks and an ace.
Germany
Krystal Rivers was the top scorer for Stuttgart with 17 kills, six blocks and two aces, but Stuttgart (2-2) fell to Schwerin (2-1) in five sets in their last match of the intermediate round in Group A. Kayla Haneline had five kills and a block and Alexis Hart added one kill, also as a substitute.
Potsdam (2-1) won its second match in Group A by beating Suhl (0-3) in four sets. Danielle Harbin led Potsdam with 17 kills and three blocks. Breland Morrissette had four kills, four blocks and an ace. Justine Wong-Orantes was credited with 27% positive reception. Suh’s Jenny Moser had 12 kills and an ace and Eleanor Holthaus had 10 kills and an ace.
Wiesbaden (3-2) ended its two-match skid in Group B by beating Vilsbiburg in four sets. Rachel Anderson had 12 kills, a block and an ace for Wiesbaden and Jaidyn Blanchfield added six kills, a block and an ace.
Munster (3-2) eliminated Aachen (2-3) as Gloria Mutiri had 19 kills and one block. Setter Jenna Ewert fired off three aces and Zoe Fleck was credited with 36% positive reception. Gabby Goddard had five kills for Aachen.
Poland
Budowlani Lodz (12-10) closed out the regular season with a five-set defeat to Bielsko-Biala (18-4). Mac May had 11 kills, two aces and a block for Lodz, which will be seeded as the fifth seed in the playoffs.
Hungary
Taylor Bannister continued her tremendous career in Hungary as Vasas Budapest won its 16th Hungarian Cup title by beating Békéscsaba in the final. Bannister had 13 kills and a match-high five aces.
